I recently stayed at this centrally located hotel in Tashkent, and overall, it was an okay experience. The biggest highlight was definitely the breakfast—an incredible spread with a wide selection of delicious dishes, from fresh pastries to traditional Uzbek options. It was the perfect way to start the day. The staff was another strong point; they were always friendly and eager to help, making sure guests felt welcome. However, the rooms left something to be desired. While clean and functional, they felt quite antiquated, almost like stepping back into the Soviet era. The décor, furniture, and general atmosphere could use some modernization. If you’re looking for a hotel with a great location, a fantastic breakfast, and helpful staff, this place delivers. But if modern amenities and updated rooms are a priority, you might want to look elsewhere.

The staff are excellent and very helpful. They stored some luggage for us while we travelled away a few days. We have stayed here 3 times, in different rooms. Superior Double room was great, newly renovated with new comfortable beds and linen, but the toilet, bath and basin are original but work fine. Standard twin room was not renovated, everything was original so beds hard, pillows lumpy, curtains drab. Very tired looking. Standard double room was great, newly renovated, comfy beds and linen. Again bathroom whiteware still original but working fine. So you pay for what you get. Request a renovated room. Breakfast caters for many tastes so that’s good. Piano player very nice to listen to.

It really is an iconic Soviet era hotel, so well worth staying just for that. The location is great, on the Amir Temur Square and two metro lines. The room was enormous and clean. All the staff (reception, bellboys, housekeeping) were friendly and very helpful. The breakfast spread was huge and everything was very tasty. We also had a drink at the little rooftop bar at sunset and had a delicious dinner in the restaurant up there too. The hotel was good value for money. There was also an exchange place inside the hotel with the same rates as the nearby bank but much much faster queues!

- Great location - close to a subway station, very central, close to great restaurants, and all locals know this hotel. - Discount on the red Tashkent City Bus. - Lively neighbourhood, but very quiet inside. - Very nice and fresh breakfast spread, including vegan options. - Clean. - 95% of the staff are friendly and helpful. Most speak English very well. - Rooms facing the square have a great view but the A/C system is old and loud. - Rooms facing the back have balconies and the view is also very nice. The A/C is modern and it doesn't make as much noise as the older ones.

It's almost an experience in itself staying here, and I was lucky enough to get a 15th floor room with a super view to the park. The room was also large, which was great. Breakfast buffet very good. Staff very friendly all around the hotel, on the reception desk, in the breakfast room, in the bar. Good English spoken. I felt very welcome. The location is excellent too – right in the centre, near a metro station too.
